Magic Biscuits

I bought Adventurer's Vault yesterday. While I haven't had a chance to read it cover to cover, it looks pretty good. In the "Other Consumables" section on p.191, I found something that made me smile:

Stonemeal Biscuit

Level 3
This coarse dwarven fare tastes foul but keeps you going throughout the day.
Other Consumable
30 gp
Property: A single stonemeal biscuit weighs one-tenth of a pound and has the nutritional value of full day's worth of food.
Power (Consumable * Healing): Standard Action. You eat the stonemeal biscuit. You gain a +1 power bonus on Endurance checks for 12 hours. In addition, you regain an extra hit point the next time you spend a healing surge this day.

Contrast this with the elven-made feybread biscuit:

Feybread Biscuit

Level 13
This hard but tasty biscuit enhances your recuperative powers for the rest of the day.
Other Consumable

650 gp
Property: A single feybread biscuit weighs one-tenth of a pound and has the nutritional value of full day's worth of food.
Power (Consumable * Healing): Standard Action. You eat a feybread biscuit. For the next 12 hours, you gain a +1 power bonus on Endurance checks and regain an extra hit point whenever you spend a healing surge.

What do you reckon? Is the extra hit point each time you spend a healing surge the reason the feybread biscuit is so much more pricey, or are adventurers being charged a premium for tasty organic lembas vs cardboardy Ryvita-like dwarf bread?

I think it's because they're harder to find. You have to go to a certain type of adventuring shop, and they're never on display - you have to ask.

Elven feybread is hand made by artisans in bijou ateliers. Dwarf stonemeal is mass produced in subterranean sweatshops by captive gnome children shackled to their benches for 16 hours a day (wondered what happened to those gnomes? That's what!).
