It is a truth universally acknowledged that a bunch of player characters in possession of a ship (or just sailing on one) must be in want of a good soaking and the loss of all their stuff. Particularly if lucybrant is involved.

And so it came to pass. We set sail after evading trouble with the Watch in port, I threw up, so did Unk (the former sailor with no ranks in Profession: Sailor) and so did Serl who was uncharacteristically quiet. Sure enough, on the second day at sea, bad weather appeared on the horizon. By the fourth day, the captain was looking concerned and the crew were grumbling. On Day 5, we were shipwrecked, losing (nearly) all our stuff. Fortunately I managed to keep hold of my scimitar and my armour and find my kukri on the beach. Unfortunately, the giant crab we killed tasted horrible but then again, Serl is missing, so it's all very swings and roundabouts.

That's a relief. We were getting worried!

no, Serl is at the bottom of the ocean gagged with seaweed and being molested by a giant squid and his prattling shall be heard no more in these lands. (Graham, I am prepared to pay almost any amount of money to make this so...)

Yeah, what the hell is that? Dancing cheese?

I'm afraid I'm not accepting bribes to inflict hentai on other PCs, but when Georg made some suggestion in an e-mail about what might be happening to Serl, I answered it with a quote from Caliban in The Tempest. Perhaps that will worry him...

Ensign 'dead'
For some reason I predict the 'ensigns'/sailors washed up with us will die horrible deaths in order add drama and gravitas to doom laden encounters on the island.

But being stranded on an island with hardly any possessions is a dream come true for Iago. Bring it on!

I see where you're going here, but they were stripey.

They're wearing football strips?

Re: Ensign 'dead'
Not sure about that but I distinctly remember ninthcouncil saying they were wearing stripey shirts. I imagined blue horizontal stripes on white, kind of like QPR's!

Re: Ensign 'dead'
I was thinking more of those T-shirts the Russian navy wear, but yes they are blue/white horizontal stripes. Of course, any expert in 19th century Chinese marine fashion could no doubt gainsay me in a moment.

Oh, and the real thing is up.

Oh, tush. They're actually there to discourage you from getting *yourselves* killed, as that will result in you playing a Com1 sailor for the next X weeks... and, unlike the legendary Sailor Bob, none of them have Con 18.

Moral dillema
Thinking about last nights session I'm wondering wether I should even be thinking about creeping arount the complex during the night for clues. Our host has been seemingly nothing but honourable and I'm meant to be 'exalted'.

Perhaps the more noble thing would be to head into the jungle to speak to the leader of the 'Broken' ....and die a horrible death!

Re: Moral dillema
I was feeling very tired during the last scene. If the dinner isn't over, I think we should ask her and also the others a few questions before we go sneaking around anywhere. There is something not right about her and this island though!

What the fact the island is caught in the remnants of a transmagical barrier than transmutes inhabitants into 'broken' animilistic mutants unless they cultivate an intellectual persona that delays the effect? ....well its certainly not Jersey ...

What we really need is an inquisitive Monkey Boy ...

Erm, yes, that'll be it.

I've just posted an account of last night's session - check it out.
