Elastica is apparently our only point of contact.

Hmmmm, that album was a Christmas present from kb98. I do like a bit of Britpop but don't seem to have listened to much recently.

Who else do you like?

Of what you lke, Gorillaz, Kings of Leon, Carter and the Foggy Mountain Boys. The Racounteurs are OK but I preferred the White Stripes. Otherwise, it's mostly Grunge, Punk, Indie Rock and Metal.

Here's my list:

I really don't like Metal, but most of the punk and trip hop bands on your list feature in my last fm library. Never really got into Sonic Youth, Butthole Surfers or Mudhoney.

There's a few I don't know that I really should check out - Be Your Own Pet, Le Tigre, The Jesus Lizard, The Kills, Hooverphonic, Slint and Sebadoah.

Slint are Math Rock, weird, sparse, heavy in parts, possibly like Grunge played by Jazz musicians. Jesus Lizard are a sleazier version of Slint, with more shouting. They were incredible live. Whereas Slint just stood there, David Yow was like Iggy Pop with his energy and undressing. Both bands were incredibly tight.

Sebadoh, I've seen loads. In a previous incarnation Lou Barlow invented hardcore but then went onto to lo-fi folky things which I think you might well enjoy. They were even on Top of the Pops once.

The Mountain Goats aren't in your list either (or mine). Check out Heretic Pride, in particular Sax Rohmer and Lovecraft in Brooklyn.

Math Rock, you say? I will have to check that out!

Just sent you a last.fm friend request. It says our musical compatibility is high:

Music you have in common includes Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine, Elastica, Pop Will Eat Itself, Blood Red Shoes and Half Man Half Biscuit.
