Happy New Year!

It’s been another very busy year, although yet again we haven’t managed to do much to the house. Work has been jolly busy for me (no change there) but I’ve enjoyed working on some interesting projects which will carry on into 2011, and kb98  has somehow managed to juggle editing and producing two books for self-published authors, her day job and bookbinding & book conservation courses. We returned to Sharm El Sheikh for a holiday in April so I got to do some diving for the first time in a few years and saw a decent-sized whitetip reef shark (fortunately not dangerous to divers!). At the end of August, we went on another amazing US holiday, this time to California, and visiting San Francisco, Yosemite, Sequoia & Kings Canyon, LA & Disneyland, Santa Barbara and the Big Sur coast.

The PCs in the Black Horse Parsantium campaign are just hitting the Paragon tier as the action moved from the city to the Ironcrags. It was great to have z45tu7 back to play for a while and very sad to say goodbye (if only for a year) to lucybrant  who is going travelling in Latin America. We managed to play 28 sessions and are half way through Halls of the Mountain King. The game has switched to biweekly so I can play Bayushi Kenzo, a reckless Scorpion bushi, in ninthcouncil ’s Legend of the Five Rings campaign.

The Juma Gang’s adventures are also ongoing as the PCs explored the Forest Ruins of Gopura, dealt with the crazed necromancer Cadavra in Scions of Punjar and are now at war with the Golden Scimitars in the streets of the Makers Ward.

Mignola’s Marauders are also have the Paragon tier firmly in their sights. After dealing with the Dagon-worshippers of Gogarth, we set off for the Isle of Manaw where we are now one encounter away from finishing The Sleeper in the Tomb of Dreams. Unfortunately, the evil Valthrun the Prescient still eludes our clutches.

I also got to play Feng Shui at long last (at Dragonmeet - great fun!) but kb98  and I didn’t manage to get our Urban Arcana game up and running. Maybe in 2011....

Although I didn’t manage to get the article I wrote published in Kobold Quarterly, a couple of monsters I created appeared in Courts of the Shadow Fey which I hope to run after Halls. I’ve also had great fun as a senior patron for The Lost City - another Open Design project which is shaping up to be awesome.

I read 39 books & RPG supplements this year. I’ve not included the numerous rules-y D&D 4e books like Player’s Handbook 3, Monster Manual 3 and Rules Compendium I’ve dipped into but not read cover to cover. I’m still reading the Dresden Files RPG too.
