Q&A Meme

• I'll respond by asking you five questions so I can satisfy my curiosity
• Update your journal with the answers to the questions
• Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions

1. A lot of British shows become favorites over here in America. Are there any American series that you follow?
My favourite was The Wire which I thought was one of the best TV series ever made - brilliant storylines and characters. Curb Your Enthusiasm is another favourite and I'm currently enjoying Flashforward and True Blood.

2. Favorite RPG?
Dungeons & Dragons in all its iterations, with 4e the one we're currently playing. Call of Cthulhu is my second-favourite and is my game of choice when not playing D&D

3. I read along about your US trip. You have the funds for another similar trip- where do you go?
Despite making two trips to Southwest USA there are still a bunch of places we haven't been to including the Saguaro Forest National Park, Tombstone (AZ), Petrified Forest, Arches and Canyonlands so I think maybe Arizona would be the focus of our next trip, along with the two Utah national parks if we can make that work. Oh, and we'd want to go back to Vegas, I think. Viva Las Vegas!

4. Favorite football team?
Crystal Palace FC who play in the Championship (the league below the Premier League). I've had a season ticket for over 10 years and go to all their home games. There aren't many seasons where they're not either in with a chance of promotion or in danger of relegation so it's always something of a rollercoaster ride. This season they're in mid-table and don't seem to be able to score very many goals. Unfortunately they have NO money to spend on players as the club's finances are in a poor state.

5. Your last meal is being prepared. What do you have?

I've never been that into food so this is a hard one to answer! I'd like to have some wild mushrooms on toast to start, followed by cheese enchiladas with red chile, guacamole and sour cream, and finish with blackcurrant cheesecake and a cappucino.

Resistance is Futile.

I've been to Palace a few times but only to see Women's Football. I guess they are almost my local club (now) but my household is split between West Ham (me) and Millwall (my wife). We could all be playing in the same division next season!

Did you go to the West Ham-Palace play off final game at the Milennium Stadium? We left home at 6.30am and still only arrived in our seats 5 minutes before kick-off, to find we were sitting by chance next to an old friend who doesn't even support Palace and immediately in front of Eddie Izzard! All very surreal!

Anyway, here goes:

1. What was it like going to school in France?

2. What is the most unjustly overlooked indie rpg?

3. If you could go and see a concert by any band, singer or recording artist, living or dead, who would you choose?

4. What is the best RPG campaign you've run or played in?

5. You have to leave Britain and go and live on a different island. Where would you go?

I'm still watching Flashforward but I'm increasingly annoyed by certain aspects of it. The FBI stuff isn't very convincing, and the timing of investigative developments seems disjointed and unnatural. The Benford character is a dick and Joe Fiennes isn't very good - write him out and stick with John Cho and Courtney Vance, I say! In fact, though I've not read the novel and am going on the Wikipedia summary, it looks as if the bits that work least well are those which have subsequently been tacked on to the original, in which the Jack Davenport character was central and there was no FBI strand.

Yeah, not mad keen on Joe Fiennes either - I still think of Shakespeare in Love and that ridiculous moustache of Paltrow's! Jack Davenport is good as usual although he's let himself go a bit...
