Just finished reading Snake Agent by Liz Williams, a novel I bought because of its tag line "John Constantine meets Chow Yun-Fat in this near future occult thriller". Not as compelling as The Lies of Locke Lamora, it was still an entertaining read. I liked the tea-kettle that was also a badger familiar, and the way the Celestial Bureaucracy was mirrored in Hell so there are ministries of wealth, lust and epidemics. The central character Detective Inspector Chen is a typical heroic maverick (supernatural) cop but it's his demonic counterpart, Seneschal Zhu Irzh, that steals the show. There are two more novels in the series after this one and I'm tempted to pick them up.
