The Hippodrome

There's not much left of Constantinople's Hippodrome: three of the monuments that stood on the spina - the bit in the middle of the track that the chariots raced round - are still there (although the Serpentine Column is missing its three serpent heads - one is in the Archaeological Museum), but that's it. You have to use your imagination and pretend that the roads surrounding the little park that's there now are the race track but it's still possible to make out the overall shape of the place.
